Performance Art Piece

WOW! I had so much fun doing this project! Never done something like this before and it was amazing! To go with the theme of happiness I decided to go with the idea of invoking happiness. So I thought about, what did I want to accomplish before I died? So I got to thinking and I put together this box. I wanted it to be interactive and I wanted it to stand out. I spray painted this box gold and fitted it for someone to wear a hat underneath it so that they could wear it on their face. My good friend Fatin wore this for 40 minutes. She was carrying sharpies, notecards, and a bucket. Get it? A bucket for a bucket list ;) Again, had so much fun!!! A lot of people came up to her and wrote stuff down!! Next time I would definitely film for longer!!! This was so cool!!!!

Xerox Project!!!

I was so excited to be able to do this project!! When I first was thinking about my piece I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. I had access to my friends personal printer which had a scanner. I started off by just scanning my hands from all 4 sides. Then I scanned my face which was actually hard because I kept breathing so marks would show up on the print!! Also her scanner took 3 minutes a scan so it was so slow!!!! I would say scanning my feet was hard because I didn't put the scanner on the floor so I was just standing there trying not to fall over for 3 minutes each foot! I added in the hands and feet with the "chains" which was actually one of my necklaces!

 

I also scanned in my text books and anything associated with school. The last few weeks have been really stressful! I'm taking 18 credits this semester and 20 next semester so I've had a very full load on my plate in addition to this being the prime season for golf! School has been stressing me out so that was my inspiration. Basically this project is representing me. I am in the middle with my face pushed up against the surface and hand in color showing that it's me and I'm sort of trapped.

 

The next part of it is obviously I'm trapped by my homework and schedules!! I wanted to do something with my feet so I made the whole thing like a body. So hands go on top and feet go on the bottom. So the hands are reaching for the balloon because I want to be released from all this stress. But I am being tied down by my feet and kept grounded because my work here is not done yet. But it is definitely in reach!

 

I LOVED this project, I wasn't sure I was going to make something really cool so I surprised myself! Really really really happy with how this turned out!
